Project Overview
Located in the heart of Washington D.C., Signal House is a new ten-story office building. Its convenient location is surrounded with diverse restaurants, shops, and bars. The 228,000 square foot project pays tribute to it’s industrial surroundings with a uniquely beautiful terracotta, metal and glass exterior.
The interior features tall ceilings and wide column spacing. Signal House offers a private terrace, two levels of below-grade parking, fitness facility, and 12,340 square feet of retail space. Penthouse amenities include a DJ booth, karaoke room, restaurant-quality kitchen, recording studio, indoor/outdoor bar, mothering room, wellness room, and incredible views of the Capitol.
The Cochran & Mann team was led by Senior Project Manager Keith McDonald, Superintendent Adrian Gongorra, and Foreman Sixto Perez. The project included common area finishes of the ten story base building. The two level underground parking garage required painting and striping. The first floor and penthouse received multiple high end finishes. And, high-performance coatings were applied to the exterior balcony rails.
The Cochran & Mann team was challenged to adhere to the fast-paced schedule of the project despite multiple factors that could have lengthened the process. Wallcoverings were coming in from Europe, resulting in longer lead times. In addition, a high-performance coating system was required to protect the terrace and balcony rails from the elements.
The Result
Despite the challenges, Cochran & Mann was able to deliver professional finishes to spaces throughout Signal House. The project was finished on time with a very happy client. Signal House can now provide businesses with a transformative experience to the way they work because of where they work.
