Project Overview
Cochran & Mann was proud to partner with DAVIS Construction on the renovations of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington (BGCGW) headquarters. Over 30 partners took part in this $1 million pro bono project to refresh the space.
The project included a complete gutting of the 5,000-square-foot headquarters. The office spaces were redone, including staff workstation furniture and additional glass sidelites for the executive staff. New plumbing and electrical work was installed while the security and teledata systems were replaced. A small audio-visual package was also added to their team room and conference room.
The Cochran & Mann team, led by Charlie Dukes, Yovani Pineda, and David Castellanos, painted all the renovated spaces of the BGCGW headquarters. This included painting the ceiling with a blue accent color. All the materials for this project were generously donated by our vendors.
Challenges
The BGCGW headquarters has undergone various improvement projects over the years. These improvements were specifically focused on updating the space for the kids, but this project led by DAVIS Construction solely focused on the staff. Cochran & Mann was challenged to create a workplace that is fresh and welcoming so that staff may continue to have a positive impact on the kids of Greater Washington.
The Result
The BGCGW offices became a safe, comfortable and efficient space for the staff members. The organization gives so much to the kids in the area, and this space will help them continue to do so. Cochran & Mann was incredibly proud to be a part of this project to support the community. We always look forward to ways we can give back to the wonderful people and organizations around us.
