Project Overview:
Linganore Creek Elementary School is a new Frederick County Public Schools facility built to serve the growing New Market community and help address increasing enrollment in eastern Frederick County.
Designed by SEA Architects and constructed with Whiting Turner as construction manager, the new school accommodates up to 882 students and was designed to meet LEED Silver requirements for energy efficiency and sustainability.
As part of the project team, Cochran & Mann completed the interior and exterior painting, caulking, and graphic wallcovering scope throughout the new facility. The work helped bring the classrooms, learning spaces, common areas, and other finished environments together ahead of the school's opening for the 2026–27 school year.
Challenges:
With the school scheduled to open in August, the project required Cochran & Mann to complete its work within a demanding three-and-a-half-month timeframe after work began in late April.
Meeting the schedule required working seven days a week from start to completion while coordinating closely with the other trades on site. With numerous areas of the school progressing simultaneously, careful scheduling and communication were essential to keeping the painting, caulking, and wallcovering work moving alongside the overall construction schedule.
Cochran & Mann's team worked throughout the compressed schedule to complete the required finishes and keep the project on track for the school's opening.
The Result
Cochran & Mann completed the project on time, allowing Linganore Creek Elementary School to open as scheduled and welcome students without delay.
The completed facility provides a new learning environment for students, teachers, and staff in the growing New Market community. Through its painting, caulking, and graphic wallcovering work, Cochran & Mann helped deliver the finished interior and exterior spaces needed to bring the new school across the finish line.
The project demonstrates Cochran & Mann's ability to coordinate painting and wallcovering work within demanding construction schedules while working alongside builders and other trades to meet critical project deadlines.
