Cochran & Mann was responsible for the interior painting and wall covering of the 338,000-square foot 2050 M Street building.

Cochran & Mann began the multi-phased work of 2050 M Street in Fall of 2016. The project involved the commercial painting of a unique new addition to the Washington D.C. central business district.
“2050 M Street will be encased in one of the most unique glass façades ever built in the city, consisting of an innovative floor-to-ceiling curved glass curtain wall with no vertical mullions” states Tishman Speyer’s website.
The 338,000 square foot commercial development will stand as an iconic, modern building for years to come. Tenants who occupy the space get an impressive suite of amenities, including security, a private roof balcony, complete fitness center, and stunning views of the city.
Cochran & Mann was responsible for the interior painting of the 12-story building, as well as the garage. Over 10 different colors were used across the paint design. Additionally, the building’s ornamental Steel Tube Roof Trellis was pre-painted at the fabricator’s shop in high performance urethane.
Challenges
The 2050 M Street project was challenging due to it being a multiphase project involving the existing neighboring building. Construction was phased to strategically build around and enclose/renovate that occupied building into this address.
The Result
The LEED® Gold certified building was completed in Q1 2020 after four years of work and the results were stunning. 2050 M Street will be a treasure of Washington D.C for generations. Cochran & Mann is proud to have left its mark on such a profound and inspirational project.
